Mercure Sapporo - Certification for “Barrier-Free Mindset” in Tourism Facilities

Mercure Sapporo was officially certified on December 16, 2025, under the “Barrier-Free Mindset Certification Program for Tourism Facilities” established by the Japan Tourism Agency, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.

The Barrier-Free Mindset Certification Program recognizes tourism facilities that actively promote accessibility and inclusive communication, and that meet specific standards in providing a welcoming environment for all guests.

Our Initiatives

• We offer accessible guest rooms designed for barrier-free accommodation.
• For guests with physical disabilities, we provide wheelchairs (for use within the hotel only), non-slip bath mats, bath chairs, and other assistive equipment upon request.
• At the front desk, we assist guests with hearing impairments by using written communication and writing boards (Boogie Boards).
